Thomas Hecker Memorial Award - Most Improved
Thomas Hecker was Garden Spot High School's wrestling coach from 2006 through 2009. In February of 2009, coach Hecker passed away in an unfortunate car accident.
Coach Hecker took over as head coach at the start of the 2006-2007 season. Making an immediate impact, the Spartans were a successful 34 and 23 during his time as head coach. Coach Hecker was a leader and a role model. Involved in so more than just his coaching career with Garden Spot, he was heavily involved in his community, church and of course his family. A role model everyone could look up to.
In memory of Coach Hecker, we have named the Most Improved Wrestler award in his honor. Coach Hecker helped mold and guide many young men in his time at Garden Spot and he will fondly forever live on in our memories.
